After working in the software industry for over 5 years, I went to graduate school to study Human-Computer Interaction. I am now looking for a full-time position in interaction design, user experience, or product management.
Stanford University
M.S. Computer Science, March, 2009 (expected)
Specialization: Human-Computer Interaction
Coursework includes:
- Framework of Human-Computer Interaction.
- Research Topics in HCI: Read and discussed important academic papers in HCI. My research project was an experiment in a controlled environment (phone usage while driving).
- Design for Agile Aging: Looked at ways of keeping older adults mobile and in good health. Produced a video prototype showing how Internet video could connect older adults to their families and let them dance together.
- Physical Interaction Design for Music: Explored the construction of physical devices for interaction with music. Programmed microcontrollers and assembled circuits on a breadboard.
- Designed and implemented an application to view the health of the Amazon Kindle network. Wrote a Java back-end and JSP front-end. Results were displayed with Google Maps.
- Worked with Amazon’s build and deployment tools. Gained familiarity with maintaining distributed web services.
